MACHU PICCHU´S COFFEE
3 Days / 2 Nights
Our “Machu Picchu´s Coffee” program starts in Cusco, and takes us to the La Convención Valley, at 1,800 meters above sea level; the perfect place to grow special coffee. Julia, our Native Coffee Guide, and Hostess will share the whole coffee and cacao production processes with us before she´ll let us taste them. We´ll stay at her jungle refuge, and will share the way Julia and her family live their lives, before going on our trip to Machu Picchu.

Day 1: Cusco – Huayopata (Julia´s house) – Coffee Experience
At the indicated time, a private vehicle will pick you up at the hotel, with your guide on board, and will take the both of you to the locality of Huayopata, in the La Convención Valley, dropping both off in front of Julia´s house, who will welcome and show you your respective rooms. There, you will have a chance to rest, before living the authenticity of the Coffee Experience, as it is grown, harvested, toasted, ground, prepared and consumed.
If you are a good coffee lover, we can assure you this experience will be very enriching, because, finally, you will discover its production´s secrets, and will have the opportunity to taste the best coffee of the house, served by Julia who is a specialist on the subject, and will answer all your questions regarding that so savory drink.
In the early evening, Julia will be our hostess and will serve us a typical dinner of her region, that we´ll share with the other members of her family, while conversations will open-up to the most diverse topics. In the end, Julia will serve us a delicious cup of special coffee, prepared with the loving care that characterizes her, as she tells us more stories and anecdotes related with her passion, ´till the time comes to enjoy a well-deserved night´s sleep.
Day 2: Huayopata – Cacao Experience – Machupicchu Pueblo
Today, we´ll follow Julia who will explain everything to us about cacao, from its growth to the adequate way of preparing and consuming it, as she also is a specialist in that area.
After the visit she will give us of her cacao plantations and craft processing plant, Julia will have us taste her homemade cacao, prepared in different ways, thus giving us the opportunity to savor what an authentic cacao should be like, and to acquire a sample of her coffee and cacao production, to enjoy and/or share, in the most adequate occasion.
Then, we will wish farewell to Julia and her family, to head towards the pedestrian village of Machupicchu Pueblo, where you will have dinner and stay at a previously booked hotel.
Day 3: Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo – Cusco
At the indicated time, your guide will pick you up at your hotel and, together, you will walk a short distance to board a tourist bus up to the Incan City of Machu Picchu. After a 25 to 30-minute uphill ride, with lots of curves, you´ll get to Machu Picchu´s Main Entrance Gate, to start a two-hour and a half guided visit. Afterward, you´ll have some free time to explore the Incan city, on your own, and to take all the pictures you want.
Then, you and your guide will board another bus back to Machupicchu Pueblo, where you´ll have the option of having lunch at a restaurant recommended by your guide, or at the hotel. In the afternoon, your guide will pick you up at your hotel and will take you to the railway station, in time to take the train back to Ollantaytambo.
In Ollantaytambo, a private vehicle will be waiting for you, to take you to the Marriott Hotel, in Cusco´s Historical Center, where your guide will wish you farewell before you have dinner and rest.
